Pocket-labs tests

The public University of Exeter (UK) has developed innovative "pocket-labs" that carries out quick, accurate, cost-effective blood tests to track, trace and monitor the spread of coronavirus.

The handheld device connects to a smartphone, and uses innovative new technology to measure patient-response to Covid-19 within minutes. The tool can also be used to track recovery rates and identify people who have developed immunity to the virus.

The work was carried out by a research group of the University and supported by Attomarker Ltd, a spin-off company from the University. The tool is currently under trial in the labs and in hospitals, and being further developed thanks to donation campaigns.
