The SPIN4EIC Assistance to Public Buyers programme, an initiative from the European Innovation Council, is offering assistance to Public buyers in Europe who want to foster innovation through procurement.   

 

As a way to foster innovation and work on the Twin Transition, the open call is of high importance for cities participating in the Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC). By applying for assistance with this programme, Public buyers within the ICC cities can benefit from tailored support in achieving their green and digital goals more effectively. There will be a total of eight calls for assistance, two for each of the following four areas:  

 

  1. Identification and assessment of needs. 

  2. Building a business case development. 

  3. Conducting an open market consultation. 

  4. Drafting tender documents. 

 

The first call for applications for the Identification and assessment of needs is now opened, and interested parties can apply until 31 May 2024. The assistance provided will be tailored to each case using the European Assistance for Innovation Procurement (EAFIP) methodology and provide best practices on innovation procurement.  

 

You will be selected through a transparent selection procedure against the following three criteria: 

  1. Expression of concrete interest in purchasing R&D and/or innovative solution. 

  2. In kind capacity allocated. 

  3. Fostering of innovation in Europe and in the EU.
