For many countries, the tourism sector is an important sector to drive the economy and local businesses. Within ICC, we value the importance of this crucial sector with the thematic track of Green and digital transition in tourism.

In recognition of the vital role that tourism will play in the recovery, the European Commission prepared a staff working document outlining possible scenarios for a transition pathway toward a more resilient, sustainable and innovative tourism ecosystem.

Commissioner Thierry Breton is now inviting stakeholders to reflect and contribute to the scenarios with concrete actions, targets and commitments for 2030 and list key enablers for the transition of the tourism ecosystem. The consultation also asks for an assessment of the scale, cost, benefit, and conditions of the required actions to accompany European tourism's green and digital transition.

The received input will be used during stakeholder workshops held this autumn.
