World Cities Summit

On July 31, the World Cities Summit (WCS) will open its doors at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. During this 4 day event, global, business and thought leaders will gather in-person to share their best practices and ideas for cities. The overarching focus of this year’s edition is “Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Emerging Stronger”. The idea is to find ways for cities to emerge more liveable, sustainable and resilient from prolonged and unpredictable disruptions.

The Intelligent Cities Challenge is a WCS Strategic Partner and will host an online webinar on “Circular Cities” later in the year.

Organised by Singapore’s Centre for Liveable Cities and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, this event will comprise the main conference with plenaries and track sessions and other key events such as the Lee Kuan Yew World Prize Lecture, the WCS Young Leaders Symposium amongst others.

The event, which takes part in mentor ICC city Singapore, is highly relevant to other ICC cities focusing on circular economy solutions and the thematic track of Green Economy and Local Green Deals. By prioritising the management of a circular economy through the promotion of renewable energy sourcing, green manufacturing and sustainable waste management, cities will transform into more climate resilient spaces.
