COVID-19 has upended the lives of EU citizens. With cities on lockdown and healthcare systems under immense pressures, our societies and economies are being impacted in unprecedented ways. Yet innovations are emerging that can save lives and protect livelihoods. Often, they rely on new uses of technology, implemented by local actors at the regional level and in cities.

That is why the European Commission’s Intelligent Cities Challenge is launching a support package for COVID-19. To kickstart this initiative, we are organising a series of interactive webinars to support city administrations. Through expert perspectives, open discussion and good practices from cities in Europe and around the world, these webinars aim to help cities navigate the current crisis and implement appropriate responses.
