CoronaMadrid

The Region of Madrid (Comunidad Autonoma de Madrid) launched a website and a mobile app where the citizens can do a self-evaluation of their symptoms in order to avoid going to the hospitals.

The initiative has been initiated by the Regional authorities (Health Department) and the design and implementation outsourced to Spanish tech companies (CARTO, ForceManager, Mendesaltaren) and co-funded by major national and international corporates (Telefónica, Ferrovial, Google, Goggo).

The tool poses a series of questions about symptoms (do you have a cough, a temperature or breathing difficulties?), evaluates them regularly and offers instructions and recommendations in accordance with the results.

This initiative resembles the one in South Korea.

Under the supervision of the National department for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, the national government is assessing the options to launch a nationwide initiative.
